Today is the last day of the year. My exams are going on, and the next one is on 2nd Jan, and i ’am not in the mood to go for engineering drawing presently. I woke up and took one look my 2008 calendar notes. A few things have remained with me which bring back memories – some good, some not-so-good.

Personally, it had been a crucial year for me, my senior secondary exams, passed out as a joke. Leaving my hometown, and shifting to Ludhiana, was another emotional barrier in my life. After that the entrance exams, admissions and all that left me busy all-over, finally settling me at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana.

And now, talking about national crisis – politics, movies and terrors among the nation, from various sources. Overall 2008, has been a mixed bag with politics of all shades, economic meltdown, shameful murders, rape cases and movies off-course.

The Arushi Talwar murder case, remained in the news for over a month, another shameful media criteria over this death, had a bad scenario of a dead girl, and her parents. The rising oil prices, reaching a high if $140 a barrel, holed the common man’s pockets, resulting economy breakdowns among nations. Among the sports, the Beijing Olympics 2008 had also been a major laurel winning year from swimming to shooting, India had been among top 10’s in major games. And even the Euro 2008, was also among the sports channels, although dissatisfied Indian soccer aspirants. And lastly the IPLs, although i lost my interest in the game, since a couple of years, but the Kings XI Punjab’s performance overwhelmed at the last. In the field of politics and elections, 2008 was a major year in altering the ruling parties of various states. Chhattisgarh, J&K, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Delhi & Rajasthan, were too among the news. Even the US Presidential election gained much attention of worldwide politically radical people, alike me.

Shamefully, Indian security was being cracked all over the nation by various anti-peace terror groups, targeting the backbones of the nation. Even the Indian economy was effected with various world-wide factors, leading to breakdown of the share markets, with all time low recording in lifetimes, leading to suicides of various stock-brokers.

And among the movies : Ghajini, WANTED and Hashar were my all time favourites among Bollywood, Hollywood and regional till the end of the year. And my views for the SRK and Amir Khan fight, after the unusual drama in SRK’s ‘Rab Ne Bana De Jodi’, a real wtf movie,!!! Amir is really the best. Not only he fights for his profession, but his abilities reflect him as a real role.

In a conclusion, 2008 was another progressive & wonderful numbering in my life, but I’ll pray ‘09 proves peace, prosperity & success for the all, since I’ll be awaiting for my birthday 09/09/09, turning me 19 this year.!
